With Ontario allowing backcountry camping to resume, eager outdoors people are excited to enjoy a slice of the warm weather while protecting themselves from COVID-19.
The reopening measures include access to paddle and portage routes, as well as hiking trails.
Some Ontario Parks have also expanded permission for picnics and off-leash pets areas.
As for the Pinery Provincial Park, not much has changed in terms of permissions, explains Discovery and Resource Management Supervisor Alistair MacKenzie.
MacKenzie says to date campground sites remain closed, with Ontario Parks saying that will be the case until at least June 14th.
Per provincial direction the Pinery’s beaches remain closed, and they’re not offering bike or canoe rentals at this time.
