Last year the Hike for Huron Hospice raised over $20,000 for their services, which makes this event one of their largest fundraisers of the year.
They’re hoping to match or exceed that this year, as the Hike has gone virtual.
Manager of Fund Development at Huron Hospice Christopher Walker says they provide a service for those at the hardest point in their life.
Walker said they’re encouraging participants to explore trails in their own backyards, to avoid gatherings against COVID-19 regulations.
Also this year, each dollar that’s donated to Huron Hospice increases the chance they’ll win an additional $20,000 from Canada Helps. 50% of their funding is through community donations.
