COVID-19 has forced the closure and cancellation of many amenities.
But recent Provincial government announcements have announced phased 2 of the reopening of the province, and now local communities are seeing reopenings.
South Huron Mayor George Finch says that the Municipality will open things up in a safe way.
Finch says that staffing along with ensuring physical distancing and cleanliness of washrooms will be challenges.
The Mayor added there were no decisions yet on relooking at summer camps that have been cancelled.
myFM asked Mayor Finch about reopening washrooms for the vulnerable population including couch surfers and the homeless.
Lambton County is stuck in phase 1, and Mayor Finch says the relationship between the two municipalities is a good one.
That being said Finch adds it’s always concerning to have people with high infection rates into the community.
