Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic some questions have surfaced about how the homeless population would adjust to the new world we find ourselves in.
Even simpler things, like finding a washroom, proved difficult as public buildings and bathrooms have been closed for months.
Huron County warden Jim Ginn was asked by myFM about how the county approached these concerns.
Ginn says they were running at max capacity of 28 in that Goderich hotel but some have since left on their own so he’s unclear to what the current number is.
When things open up entirely, much like the second phase of reopenings in place now, Ginn said they’ll ensure the homeless population stays healthy by having quality hand washers and sanitizer stations, as people have access to public washrooms once more.
