There will be a Canada Day party in Grand Bend this year, no computer required.
Nan Brooks and her husband are the organizing committee co-chair and figured everyone is sick of virtual meetings, gatherings, and events.
So they set out to find a way to have a COVID-19 appropriate Canada Day celebration without internet, and sponsored by three area business, they reached a partnership with Starlight Drive-In, where Brooks says lots will be happening.
There will be a maximum of 148 cars allowed, and its $25 per car, with a a $5 discount when you show a same day receipt of $20 or more from a local business in Grand Bend.
Brooks says the money from the event will go towards a live concert for the same night when Lambton Shores puts on their in-person Canada Day fireworks later this year, when allowed.
Tickets will be on sale June 29 and 30 from 1130am to 300 pm at the Grand Bend Tourist Centre and July 1st on Main Street at the beach house.
