Three more beds have been added to Huron Turning Point in Exeter.
Over the past three years, HTP’s original three beds helped support 21 men but 40 men applied for the program, showing the need continues to be there, says United Way Perth-Huron Executive Director Ryan Erb.
HTP has continued to operate under additional COVID-19 protocols but Erb admits the pandemic has created hurdles in keeping contact with clients, especially those battling addiction and mental health.
Eerb says the three new beds, which have already been filled, has been made possible through fundraising efforts over the past year and the work done by local community groups addressing homelessness.
