A local school board has launched a way to assist the mental health needs of students and parents.
The Avon-Maitland District School Board has created a service that will be available Monday through Thursday, from 9 am to 3 pm, and will be run by Avon-Maitland’s Mental Health and Well-being team.
Superintendent Jodie Baker said that the program was created to support students who struggled with online learning and with the idea of going back to a classroom setting in the fall, and have established a number of supports through additional funding.
Those who wish to make a call can do so by dialing 226-378-8931 to talk to a member of the Avon-Maitland’s Mental Health and Well-being team.
