Huron County warden Jim Ginn won’t seek re-election in December, he told county council in July.
He’s one of if not the longest running warden ever for the county, holding the chair for four years.
He says for now he plans to remain on county council after the new warden gets elected.
As for his mayoral duties in Central Huron, right now he intends to seek re-election but he’ll make a final decision closer to campaign season in two years time.
Ginn tells myFM there’s a few reasons behind to step down as warden in December.
Ginn has a number of personal highlights as Warden. He’s proud of the work that was done for the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance amalgamation, as well as always fighting for farmers.
Ginn also took joy in a plowing match, meeting premiers and the Prime Minister along the way.
