Terence Kernaghan has a lot of concerns about the upcoming school year and he’s not alone.
The London North Centre MPP continues to call on the provincial government to reduce class sizes to ensure a two metre distance between students is possible.
He joins the chorus of the four major teachers’ unions asking for the same.
The NDP member of parliament says he feels for grandparents of students returning to the classroom who won’t be able to see them for their own health concerns.
Kernaghan says around Queens Park the province is returning to “their rhetoric,” of people playing politics on the matter. That’s not the case Kernaghan says and points to Sick Kids and Registered Nurses Association of Ontario coming out as non-political entities calling for change.
On top of smaller class sizes, Kernaghan says To improve the return to school plan Kernaghan says more needs to be done to ensure safe bus transit for students, and more community space for students to get around safely.
