OPP Constable Jamie Stanley spoke with myFM about students heading back to school shortly and what everyone should be looking out for.
When it comes to driving in school zones with lots of children present, Stanley says the only appropriate approach is a cautious one, adding there’ll be an enhanced police presence for the first few weeks.
Stanley is also reminding drivers to come to a complete stop for buses which have their stop sign extended and lights flashing as children hop on or off, as you can face significant fines if caught ignoring those signals and they want to keep everyone safe.
