Middlesex County is receiving almost $1.8 million in provincial funding for COVID-19 relief.
The initial funding announcement was made in August but exact dollar figures weren’t known until recently.
Warden Cathy Burghardt-Jesson says the county has incurred extra operational costs due to the nature of COVID-19 restrictions and this funding will help.
While the accounting continues as to the approximate additional costs because of the coronavirus, Burghardt-Jesson estimates this cash infusion will cover most of if not all of the extra expenses related to the first wave.
