The United Way of Perth-Huron says they’ve teamed up with the County of Huron to hire a new Housing Advocate for people experiencing homelessness.
They say that a Housing Advocate in Huron County is the latest piece in their ongoing work with community partners to combat the issue of chronic homelessness.
This is along with the Huron Turning Point Residence, and the UWPH’s continued advocacy for longer-term solutions like Basic Income and Living Wage.
The United Way says that, without stable housing, it’s impossible for people to address health issues, secure income and obtain employment.
The Housing Advocate will be working with tenants and landlords to help secure housing for those experiencing homelessness.
