Ontario’s 2020 Budget was unveiled last week by the Finance Minister.
There’s not an abundance of surprises, with substantial funding headed to various COVID-19 support programs and infrastructure boosts to hospitals.
Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson says their focus is protecting the people of Ontario.
With record spending of $187 billion, the province’s deficit jumps to $38.5 billion. Thompson says they’ve laid out framework to chip away at that in the coming years.
Also included in the budget is at-home school funding for families, incentives to vacation in Ontario, and a boost to rural broadband.
