A rare Sunday news conference was held yesterday by Huron Perth Public Health to update everyone on Cedarcroft Place in Stratford.
Over the weekend local hospitals in Goderich, Ingersoll, Woodstock, Stratford, and Wingham accepted residents from the home based on physician assessments of the health needs of residents and the capacity of the home.
Based on the best interest of the residents, 10 patients were temporarily moved out of the home, including 5 positive cases, and 5 people with other acute medical conditions that were negative.
The home only has 85 suites, and COVID-19 has tore through the home, with 42 cases, and 18 staff members testing positive.
Sadly there have been 4 deaths associated with the outbreak.
