The Ontario government is providing an additional $695 million for financial assistance to Ontario Municipalities to help ensure they don’t carry over deficits caused by COVID-19 into 2021.
$299 million is being spread across all 444 municipalities, while another $396 million is being allocated for 48 municipalities hit hardest by the pandemic.
The announcement will help Ontario municipalities develop budgets based on the reality of the ongoing pandemic, all while giving them the confidence to continue with capital investments.
