Startling numbers from the Ontario government say that over 1700 people have died and another 25 thousand people have been injured in the last decade due to impaired driving in the province.
Because of that the government is investing $4.8 million through the Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere grant program to help police services across the province take impaired drivers off the streets.
171 police services across the province will receive funding to carry out year round safety initiatives including roadside screening and education campaigns.
