The Provincial Government is providing almost $2-million to local municipalities to help offset operating costs of critical services.
The funds are to help ensure no municipality carries an operating deficit heading into the new year. MPP Lisa Thompson recently made an announcement that funding from the Safe Restart Agreement will provide municipal councils deliver critical services that are relied on every day.
Thompson also announced both Huron and Bruce Counties will receive money for social services relief. The funds are to be used to protect homeless shelter staff and residents, create longer term housing solutions and support plans to prepare for future outbreaks and emergencies.
