South Huron Committee of the Whole has made recommendations to council to close Stephen Arena in Huron Park.
A close vote from the committee brought forward the decision with 4 council members including: Mayor Finch and councilors Neeb, Willard and Vaughan in favor of the recommendation to close Stephen Arena and 3 against the idea including Deputy Mayor Dietrich, and councilors Faubert and Oke.
The recommendation came during the Committee of the Whole meeting on January 25th when committee members reviewed the 2019 Recreation Master Plan Facility Study.
The committee consists of every member of council, and the recommendations then come to council during an official meeting to be voted on.
It’s believed the recommendation will come to council during the February 16th meeting.
