Huron Perth Public Health has released their COVID-19 vaccine implementation plan overview with a focus on bringing vaccines to people.
The HPPH model will rely on the 3 Ms: Mass vaccination clinics, mobile clinics and multiple sites and partners.
HPPH says that multiple sites will be set up across the county to allow for more clinics, and tentative hub spots include Wingham, Clinton, Goderich, Exeter, Listowel, Stratford, St. Mary’s, Milverton, Mitchell and Seaforth.
Eligible recipients of the vaccine will be people 16 and older without a medical contra-indication who want to receive the vaccine, but the goal is to vaccinate at least 75 % of the people as quickly and as safely as possible.
Phase 1 of the vaccine rollout saw 1459 doses administered in long-term care homes and high risk retirement homes.
Phase 2 is anticipated to begin in late spring with phase 3 anticipated to begin in late summer.
