Huron County Warden Glen McNeil is happy that they have passed their 2021 budget with what he says is a minimal increase in the tax levy.
The final draft budget that was approved at last Wednesday’s (17th) Council meeting came in at less than two percent (1.99%) which will mean the average increase in a home or farm property will be around $10.
McNeil credits the work of staff to be able to find savings to get to their target number.
McNeil says they were never going to achieve a zero percent increase as costs of doing business keeps going up.
He says the County will be in a position to make adjustments if the pandemic continues to dominate this year.
