The province has announced that they are providing additional financial support for municipalities during COVID-19.
$500 million will help support all 444 municipalities including 21 locally.
The relief announced on Thursday is to help ensure the delivery of critical services while keeping capital projects on track.
The funding is being allocated based on a combination of the base amount using the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation, and an amount based on the proportion of provincial COVID-19 cases in each municipality’s respective health unit.
