Unemployment continues to climb in the Stratford-Bruce Peninsula economic corridor.
A report from the Four County Labour Market Planning Board showed that unemployment in February bumped up by 0.8 percent to 7.1 percent.
The provincial unemployment rate is also up at 9.3 percent (both figures unadjusted for seasonality).
They say job losses were mostly due to the second province-wide shutdown and employers continuing to deal with the uncertainty of the current economic climate.
Overall net employment in the region fell by 1,500, all but 100 were full-time positions.
The goods-producing sector saw a net gain of 800 jobs with utilities and manufacturing leading the way.
The service sector lost a net 2,400 jobs mostly in the wholesale and retail area.
