A new agricultural program is coming to Listowel District Secondary School.
The Avon Maitland District School Board announced that students in grades 11 and 12 can enroll in the newly designed Specialist High Skills Major in Agriculture program which connects students with professionals, offers hands on learning and co-op placements.
AMDSB said in a release that this isn’t a return to the days of raising livestock beside a soccer field or a single course, but rather a real world opportunity for students to learn about current and emerging agricultural technologies and practices.
Other schools offering the program locally include FE Madill, Mitchell District, and Central Huron Secondary.
