myFM received an anonymous tip that boats were still using the Grand Bend harbour despite the Provincial stay-at-home order.
Under the order, recreational boating is not permitted, and boats and watercrafts can only be placed in the water to be secured to a dock until the marina is open to the public.
Lambton Shores Mayor Bill Weber told us via email that enforcement on the regulation would come from the OPP.
So we spoke with Lambton County OPP who told us also via email that police have investigated calls in regards to the Grand Bend harbour, and warnings have been issued.
The OPP says that signage is posted and ramps are closed, but officers will investigate complaints, and take a reasonable, progressing approach to enforcement where possible and provide education and warnings, before issuing charges.
