Huron County OPP are saying their campaign efforts over the civic long weekend were a success.
The campaign focused on the Big 4 leading causes of road deaths which are impaired driving, speeding/aggressive driving, distracted driving, and the lack of seatbelt use.
The local OPP investigated six collisions during the campaign, with two being caused by impaired drivers, two by inattentive drivers, and two who were just accidents.
A total of 57 drivers were charged with speeding.
Two drivers were charged with stunt driving, one impaired driving charge, one warn-range suspension, three seatbelt offences, and 10 moving violations.
Police are happy to report there were no move over charges, which requires drivers to move over for tow trucks and emergency vehicles with lights activated.
