As the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority celebrates its 75 years, they are recognizing South Huron, and the communities surrounding for all the projects they have been a part of over the years.
Some examples of the great partnership include farmers in Usborne and Stephen who were some of the early adopter of no-till and conservation tillage practices. The eight-kilometre section of the South Huron Trail in Exeter called the MacNaughton-Morrison section. It follows the Ausable River and circles the Morrison Reservoir.
Another is the Jones Bridge, built to connect sections of the trail to allow walkers a safe way to cross the Ausable River. Lastly, The Friends of the South Huron Trail, which was formed in 2005, is a group of community volunteers who maintain the trail and host cleanups, events, and fundraise for the trail.
There have been many positive partnerships that have developed over the years, and they look forward to many more working with the communities in the Municipalities of South Huron.
