Going back to school in the fall in person once again is something many are looking forward to, but it is important to remind yourself and your children on how to stay safe and what COVID-19 precautions they should take while at school.
Kids under the age of 12 are unvaccinated, so it is important to remind them, as well as vaccinated kids the basics; wear a mask, washing their hands, and that if any symptoms develop you stay home and get tested.
Associate Medial Officer for the Middlesex London Health Unit Dr Alex Summers says that another things parents and kids should keep in mind is social circles outside of school hours.
Dr. Summers also said that for those who can get vaccinated, so anyone 12+, it is important to do so.
He said that in theory if everyone who was eligible to get vaccinated did so, we could have enough herd immunity to protect those who can’t.
