With people heading back into the classroom, and many people also heading back into the office, getting a healthy lunch and snack together will be a part of everyone’s daily routine.
Registered Nutritionist Lianne Phillipson talked about this on a recent episode of her podcast, Eat This with Lianne. Talking about how to start your day, tips and tricks on how to pack a healthy snack and how to avoid reaching for a bag of chips or cookies. One tip she says is to make sure snacks and breakfast have protein and carbohydrates.
Another tip she shared is to portion your snacks into bowls, or containers, to signal to yourself or your child that once that container or bowl is empty the snack is done.
Another tip she said to keep in mind is to never let yourself get too hungry or to the point where you are hangry, because that is when you are more likely to reach for the unhealthy options.
