As we await the results of the election, we at myFM News caught up with some of our local candidates to talk about their campaign.
Sudit Ranade for the Liberal Party ran in his first election this year, after seeing first hand the relationship between public health and politics. He says that overall, he really enjoyed his campaign experience.
He said one thing he learned is how to really trust people, and that going into the election he didn’t know what to expect from people but he says he met some really amazing people, and got to hear what they thought the issues were in our community, which he really valued.
We also spoke with Jeremy Hull the Green Party candidate for the riding said that for this being his first year he really enjoyed the overall experience.
One thing Hull said he learned over the election period is what personal growth he needs to make going forward, like becoming more comfortable public speaking, as he hopes to throw his hat back in the ring the next time an election rolls around.
And we caught up with Kevin Mitchell who ran for the Peoples Party of Canada and says that the support he and the party has received has been amazing.
Mitchell says that he entered the race because he was complaining about issues he saw for so long, he wated to take action to change it and to see the support he and the PPC received was amazing and an honour to represent the people who supported him.
