The Ontario Government is investing $100 million through the new Tourism Recovery Program to help the tourism industry recover from the pandemic.
The program will help for-profit tourism businesses in the attraction, accommodation and leisure sectors protect jobs across the province and get them ready to re-open.
Any business that helps drive employment and visitors to the region will be able to apply for the fund, places like inns, lodges, boat tours, ski centres, live performance venues, and more.
The Ontario Tourism Recovery Program will support the tourism businesses that have experienced at least a 50 percent loss of eligible revenue in 2020-21, in comparison to 2019.
The funds they receive can be used towards whatever makes the most sense for their business, from operating costs to staff salaries, or health and safety measures for visitors and staff.
Applications open on October 13th.
