Six Students from Huron County are receiving scholarships valued at up to $44,000 over four years for their undergraduate degrees starting this fall. The third class of students to receive the McCall Huron County Scholarship, founded by Marcy and John McCall MacBain, which started in 2018.
The scholarships are based on the demonstration of potential for leaderships, positive contributions to their school or broader communities, and overall commitment to excellence. Along with the the six students who were finalists for the scholarship also received an entrance aware of $2,500 for their university studies.
This years six recipients are Liam Wilson (Central Huron Secondary School), Eleanor Sawchuk (F.E. Madill Secondary School), Jessica Hewitt (Goderich District Collegiate Institute), Alyssa Sturdy (South Huron Secondary School), Ava Hill (St. Anne’s Catholic Secondary School), and Kate Huettlin (South Huron Secondary School).
