The Municipality of Central Huron recently receive their second quarterly non-tax revenue from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation for hosting the Gateway Casino, receiving over $132 thousand.
Mayor Jim Ginn says that having the casino in the Municipality benefits it in more ways than one.
Some of the funding goes towards doing things in the municipality like bridge and roadwork, which would otherwise raise taxes, but they also have a façade fund and a fund to help non-profits, to help offset the potential missing funds due to the casino.
