Lambton Public Health is reminding local business owners to uphold the provincial proof of vaccination requirement after receiving a number of complaints from residents.
Mike Gorgey, Manager of Health Promotion at LPH said, “LPH has received several complaints from residents over the last few weeks of businesses not being in compliance. The months ahead will require sustained observance in order to avoid unnecessary disruption to people’s everyday lives. Let’s work together to get back to normal as quickly as possible.”
The current mandate requires meeting and event spaces, restaurants, bars and other food or drink establishments, sports and recreation facilities, concert venues, theaters, cinemas, racing tracks, Casinos and gaming establishments, and places where commercial film and television production takes place, to have patrons show ID, proof of being fully vaccinated (plus 2 weeks) or proof of a valid exemption like a medical or clinical trial exemption.
Failure to complain could results in a $750 fine for individuals and a $1,000 fine for establishments, or more.
