The Town of Goderich has been undergoing some community assessment recently, to see what the community needs in regards to recreational needs.
The Community Recreational Needs Assessment started this past summer and has been collecting data from all different types of people in the community, from town staff, residents, coaches, referees, and politicians, to evaluate what needs to be adjusted to meet the needs of the town by 2030.
Mayor of Goderich John Grace says that the last time one of these evaluations was done was 25 years ago, so this review needed to happen.
From all different services like their partnership with the YMCA, to what new residents who are moving to the area might need.
Mayor Grace says that this is a long process with a lot of data, so as of right now there are no clear next steps since they are still working through everything, but whatever is going to benefit the community is what will be done.
