If you were in Brucefield recently you may have noticed a new toy store open up, quietly maybe, but with how many people have stopped in during their first week, it wasn’t as soft an opening as they were expecting.
Isaac Elliott-Fisher, co-owner of Definitive Toys opened up the store, but originally they initially bought the building they are in, which has a lot of history behind it, to be a manufacturing place for toys, but once they saw all the potential, they decided to make it a toy store, a museum and just a place for the whole family to enjoy.
Fisher, who is a documentary film maker and has made quite a few on different toys, says that another key thing they wanted from this new spot is to bring kids back to kids, playing with toys and their imagination, while also having toys that act as a memory for adults on their own childhood. Essentially, Fisher says that when you walk in, they want it to be like Duncan’s toy chest from Home Alone 2, but the experience will go beyond that.
They will be having a grand opening December 18th and 19th, with free coffee and hot chocolate, popcorn, an illusionist performance and more. There will be limited space due to COVID but they will also be streaming the event online.
