Students are calling on the provincial government to take action during the two week switch to the online learning model.
That was Carson Kitchen, a Grade 12 student who is on the Ontario Student Trustees’ Organization.
Kitchen, adds there was fear amongst students ahead of the planned return to in-person learning this week.
The student said his work with the Ontario Student Trustees’ Organization is to amplify the voice of every student in Ontario to the provincial government.
While Kitchen is the first to admit it is easier for him to focus when in a classroom than on a laptop at home, he thinks this is currently the safest option.
He said the biggest worry for him is the province’s decision to no longer report school cases and outbreaks.
