The County of Huron owns and maintains 14 forest tracts with more than 1600 acres.
Each year an update is given to the County Council with this year being the 75th annual.
Forests in Huron County provide sources of environmental protection, education and recreation.
Highlights of the annual report included passive recreation increases due to COVID-19, forest owners in the County continue to apply good forestry practices to woodlands, and a bylaw for woodlot protection helps protect the forests, and wildlife resources.
