The Crown is seeking a life sentence for the man who stabbed a woman outside of a St. Marys Elementary School last September.
The prosecution insists at Derek Boyds attack on the woman who was an ex-girlfriend and employee was as serious as murder.
The 38 year old Boyd has pleaded guilty to attempted murder.
As myFM reported, a statement of facts says the woman was sitting in a parked car on September 9th outside of Little Falls Elementary School when she was stabbed multiple times.
The defence insists the attack was only planned after hearing the victim on the phone with someone Boyd believed she was having an affair with when they were together.
Defence attorney Amy Robern also pointed to a history of Boyd being sexually abused which led to a cycle of drugs, alcohol, and steroid abuse.
The trial will continue on March 31st.
