Police would like to remind us that this week is Impaired Driving Prevention Week running through until March 26th.
Impaired driving, whether by alcohol or drugs, continues to kill or injure more Canadians than any other crime.
It also remains the single most important factor contributing to serious road crashes with an increase of 43% in the number of police reported drug-impaired driving incidents from 2019 to 2020.
Illegal drugs, cannabis, over-the-counter and prescription medications can all impact your judgement, coordination, and reaction time behind the wheel.
Impaired driving applies to all motor vehicles, watercraft and snowmobiles and everyone has a role to play to ensure safety on Canada’s roads, trails and waterways.
Spot It. Help Stop It. Call 911.
