Minister of Rural Affairs and Housing Steve Clark says the “More Homes for Everyone” plan introduced last week to increase housing supply needs the support of municipalities for it to work.
He tells myFM that addressing housing shortages isn’t going to be an easy task.
Clark, says that is what the bill is trying to accomplish.
He also says Mayors and councils need to get on board with provincial measures allowing the addition of units like granny suites to existing homes.
He says those additional units either haven’t been implemented or have been limited in some municipalities.
