The Alzheimer Society Huron County and the Alzheimer Society Perth County are officially one society, after more than a year of planning.
The new society will be called the Alzheimer Society Huron Perth.
Executive Director Cathy Ritsma feels that the coming of the two societies was the best next thing to do.
With the two societies coming together, this means more people living with Alzheimers and their care partners can be served and more programs as well among other things.
Nothing will change with existing clients, the Society stresses that EVERYONE will remain working with the same workers, groups or services they are in.
The benefits of the unification will include:
– More people living with Dementia and their care partners being served
– Consistency of programs and services across Huron and Perth
– More specialized roles for our staff
– Decreasing infrastructure duplication
– Contributing to streamlining the system
