Tough times at the St. Mary’s Memorial Hospital.
The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance has declared an outbreak of COVID-19 on the Inpatient Unit, after four patients and one team member tested positive.
The outbreak status means that two or more of the cases could have been acquired at the hospital.
The unit is now closed to admissions until further notice, and contact tracing is taking place.
The hospital is also reducing hours at the Emergency Department until April 21st due to staffing shortages due to COVID-19.
The unit will be open 7 AM until 6 PM.
Anyone requiring immediate medical attention should call 9-1-1, and paramedics will get you to the nearest Emergency Department for care.
