The New Democrats say they have a plan to tackle one of the biggest issues in this provincial election – affordable housing.
We caught up with NDP Leader Andrea Horwath at a campaign stop where she told us she knows prices have to come down.
Horwath says one thing that needs to be addressed is a lack of starter houses, which she says don’t even exist anymore.
The leader adds that there’s a way to fix it by building duplexes and triplexes which are lower cost. And she says there are ways to achieve this while respecting the existing community, in smaller towns and municipalities like ours.
