Affordable housing was a big topic at Council in South Huron.
C-A-O Dan Best brought up the topic of affordable and attainable housing and South Huron Mayor George Finch says the new House Cleaning Amendment will help bring more structure to the municipality.
Council has approved the House Cleaning Amendment with the goal of it being implemented in the spring of 2023.
The Growth Study Community Improvement plan is in the 2023 budget.
Currently, South Huron has 7 housing developments approved and on the go.
Finch says that the housing crisis is affecting Canadians everywhere. He says he is working closely with council and staff to apply to more funding and grants to insure there is enough room in the municipality.
