Ontario Provincial Police say more than 250 people have been killed in land and water collisions so far this year.
Sergeant Kerry Schmidt says 259 people in the province lost their lives on roads, trails and waterways since January, including 19 fatalities last week alone.
Schmidt also says fatal statistics are up this year in categories like distracted driving, impaired driving, people not wearing seatbelts or safety equipment when compared to last year.
He says there has also been a 300% increase in bicycle fatalities so far this year compared to 2021
