Running for Ward 2 in South Huron is Marc Denomme
He was born and raised and is 7th generation living in Exeter.
He believes council needs someone with strong roots.
Denomme also thinks it’s important for both seniors and youth to have a voice in the community. He says he comes from a strong business background which could be good for council.
Denomme’s key focus is on infrastructure, mostly towards recreational parks and sports facilities.
He says the parks are not owned by the Municipality and if that land were to sell, it wouldn’t be good.
He says parks need to diversify as both seniors and youth need a place to be active.
Denomme also has a focus on affordable housing. He says the Municipality needs to work closely with developers to make sure the housing going up truly is affordable.
Denomme is a husband and father to 4 girls. He is the Vice President of the Exeter Lion’s Club and works at Eric Campbells Ford in Exeter. Since becoming Vice president of the Exeter Lion’s, he has seen a lot of growth in the events they put on. One example he gave was their annual golf tournament. Since taking it over, he’s seen a 400% increase in profit. he says it’s skills like that, that make him a good candidate for Ward 2 in South Huron.
