Education Minister Stephen Lecce has announced that the Ontario government has been at the table with CUPE all the way until the last minute.
But he says CUPE wouldn’t budge, forcing the government to pass the Keeping Kids in Class legislation, and he expects all educators to be in the classroom tomorrow.
Minister Lecce says if CUPE does strike tomorrow, it will be an illegal strike, and the government will use every tool possible to end it and keep kids in the classrooms.
Minister Lecce has also announced he has directed school boards to remain open, and for teachers to provide in-person learning.
