Enrollment has gone up at Avon Maitland Schools for the fall.
The board has increased to about 400 students, says Superintendent of Education Jane Morris. 300 in elementary and 100 in secondary schools.
She says they are also seeing an increase of families who were born outside of Canada, or newcomer families.
They have also made changes to their Alternative Education Program. This program allows students who left school, or were at risk, take part time courses.
There has also been an increase of international students. They now have about 100 but were only expecting about 45.
