A big weather system coming from Colorado is going to sweep over Southwestern Ontario for the next 48 hours.
Peter Kimbell, Warning Preparedness Meteorologist with Environment Canada tells myFM the system will start small and grow.
We will be in the belly of the beat this afternoon and evening. Kimbell says they are unsure if the worst will be here sooner or later, but it is coming.
Police are asking people not to drive unless absolutely necessary during this time.
Aside from the slick roads, you could see debris on the roadway or even downed powerlines.
Sanchuk said people should be prepared at home as well for potential power outages.
With that, he is sending out a reminder that 911 is for emergencies only.
Sanchuk added that if you have to head out, make sure your vehicle is cleared off entirly, that your lighting system is on, and that your windshield washer fluid is topped up.
