Since the start of the war in Ukraine, about 70 Ukrainian’s have come to Huron County.
Mark Nonkes, Huron County’s Immigration Partnership Manager, tells myFM
There are tons of support available for Ukrainians in Huron County.
He adds that they are still looking for host families. There are also monthly meet ups for Ukrainians in the area.
Nonkes says any Huron County library is a great starting place to look for support and help for anyone from Ukraine.
Nonkes says a monthly meet up is done for Ukrainians in Huron county as well.

Coming up this Friday (February 24th) is ‘Learn to Curl for Ukrainian’s’ at the Seaforth Curling Club.
President of the Seaforth Curling Club, Brian McGavin, says curling is for everyone.
He also says they hope curling will be an opportunity for Ukrainians to get involved in the community.
There is no registration required. Curling will start at 5:30pm and go to 9pm. Please keep an eye on the Seaforth Curling Club and Huron County Facebook pages for any cancellations.
